Jinflex PVC/PVG Solid Woven Conveyor Belts Prove Long-Term Reliability in Shanxi Underground Coal Mine

December 26, 2025

Zaozhuang Jinflex Rubber & Plastic Technology Co., Ltd (Jinflex), a leading producer of flame-retardant rubber conveyor belts, continues to showcase the enduring performance of its PVC/PVG solid woven conveyor belt series through a successful multi-year application in a major underground coal mine in Shanxi Province, China.

PVC/PVG solid woven conveyor belts are a long-established flagship product in Jinflex’s portfolio, specially designed for demanding underground coal mining environments. These belts utilize a high-strength solid woven fabric core fully impregnated and covered with PVC for dry applications (suitable for inclines up to 16°) or a nitrile rubber/PVC blend (PVG) for wet and slippery conditions (up to 20° incline). They deliver outstanding flame retardancy, anti-static properties, impact and tear resistance, low elongation, and excellent abrasion resistance, fully complying with Chinese MT914-2008 and MT668-2019 standards as well as international norms such as DIN, RMA, AS, JIS, and ISO.

Since early 2022, Jinflex has supplied PVG-type belts (strength grade 1250S) for the main haulage and inclined roadways in this Shanxi coal mine. The system operates in consistently damp, dusty conditions with frequent water seepage and heavy coal dust accumulation, transporting millions of tons of raw coal over distances exceeding 3 km per line. The customer reports that the belts have maintained excellent performance throughout this period, with no fire incidents or flame propagation in the high-risk methane environment, virtually no surface wear or delamination, and stable operation even on inclines up to 18°. The robust PVG cover and strong core adhesion have ensured minimal maintenance needs, easier cold vulcanized splicing, lower energy consumption due to the lightweight construction, and fewer unscheduled stops compared to previously used belts. Overall, the belts have contributed to safer working conditions, reduced operational disruptions, and noticeably lower total conveying costs.

This project stands as a representative example of the reliability Jinflex PVC/PVG belts provide in China’s coal mining sector and similar high-safety applications. The series continues to be widely adopted both domestically and in export markets where certified flame-resistant, anti-static performance is essential.
